A rare, important collection of letters by Saint Francis of Paola, the founder of the Roman Catholic Order of Minims. It also includes philosophical and mystical writings of Teresa of Avila. Saint Teresa describes her visions and her communications with the Holy Spirit.
This rare first edition work was placed on the Prohibited Book Index for ‘multiple falsehoods from the Apocrypha.’
This rare 1657 edition is bound with a 1644 printing of Boncompagno’s “Zeal of the Doors of Jerusalem”.
