R. C. GORMAN EMBOSSED PAPER SCULPTURE PRINT: R.C. Gorman (American, 1931-2005) Cast Paper Print / Sculpture depicting a seated Native American woman, relief cast in hand-made paper with decked edge, pencil signed and numbered out of 150 on face, embossed artist marks, 22" x 24". Rudolph Carl Gorman was a Native American artist of the Navajo Nation. The New York Times referred to him as "the Picasso of American Indian artists".PROVENANCE: Rare-Era.com is honored to represent this piece on behalf of Personalized Estate Liquidation Benefiting Youth, Inc. (P.E.L.). P.E.L. is a volunteer organization boasting 50 plus dedicated volunteers and experts. The company hosts gallery sales within their 9,400-square foot showroom facility in Sarasota, Florida. Sale proceeds generated at P.E.L support causes dedicated to at risk youth throughout Sarasota County, Florida. To date, their volunteers have given over $300,000 in educational scholarships and have raised over $1.2 million.
Condition
Unframed and free of chips, cracks, rips and repairs, on verso, there are the remnants of three pieces of acid free linen tape from where the piece had been formerly hang-mounted.
