Herschede Mahogany 2 Wt. Grandfather Clock. 12 in. silvered dial with black incised hour numbers, sub seconds dial & moon phase dial. Pierced blued hands and gilt pierced brass filigree corner spandrels on the dial plate. Brass 8 day weight driven movement signed with Herschede crown trade mark, has maintaining power, Graham deadbeat escapement, long steel pendulum rod with brass covered bob and 2 brass covered weights with solid brass pulleys; quarter hour bim-bam strike on 2 long silvered tubes which are signed "The Herschede Hall Clock Co., Cincinnatti, O., Crown Symphony Tubes, patented Jan. 13, '03". Carved mahogany floor standing case, Catalog Pattern No. 5, with arched bonnet crest, turned finials, turned and fluted quarter corner columns with beveled door glass, inset carved panel in the base and stands on claw feet. Case has an enhanced original finish, front toes are missing from the feet. 99 in. high x 26 in. wide x 15 in. deep.
