Description
Antique sterling silver chalice or goblet by Peter L. Krider, prominent 19th century Philadelphia silversmith, circa 1850-1880. Embossed with rococo designs and decorated with a figure of a female holding a sheathed sword and shield, a representation of the Statue of Freedom (designed by Thomas Crawford) that crowns the dome of the U.S. capitol building. Gold washed interior. Marked on bottom, "*P.L.K.* 70", "Standard". Excellent condition. Measures 3.5"dia x 6.5"t. Weight = 5.85 troy oz.
