Napoleon III Boulle and Marble-Top Cabinet

third quarter 19th century, the inset rectangular marble top with turreted corners, above a conforming case fitted with two cupboard doors, each inset with an oval panel, raised on turreted feet, the whole with intricate boulle patterns.

In "as found" condition. The black marble top has some old chips to the front edge and corners. Both sides have vertical open shrinkage cracks. There is scattered loose brasswork throughout, as well as a few scattered losses. All of the ormolu mounts and cast bronze trim appear to be present. Some chipping to the wood along the base. Vertical lock is present but lacking key. The tortoise-work is loose in areas and some filler has been added.
