Exceptional Pair of George III Giltwood Oval Mirrors. Each crest with ramís head carved urn issuing an anthemion and suspending bellflower and floral scrolled swags above an oval mirror plate within marginalized mirror slips and bead carved frame, the outer edge with trailing bellflowers; the Prince-of-Wales pendant centering scrolled bellflower and blossom carved swags. Circa 1775. {Dimensions 82 1/4 x 34 inches} Provenance: Hyde Park Antiques, New York These mirrors were previously offered by Christieís New York, October 19, 2000, lot 164. The mirrors were compared to examples by both John Linnell as well as Gillow.
