Description
Aztec copper 'money' in the form of an axe head, Mexico, AD 1300 - 1500, formed from a piece of sheet bronze hammered then trimmed to weight and shape. 8 in x 3 in (20.4 x 7.6 cm). Well-preserved and nicely patinated. Ex Southern California private collection, acquired in the 1970's.
