A COLLECTION OF TWENTY SEVEN VICTORIAN AND VINTAGE SEASHELL ENCRUSTED AND CARVED OJBET DE LA MER SOUVENIRS, 19TH/20TH CENTURY, including three metal mounted clam shell form boxes, one lined with purple velvet, an abalone shell fragment mounted with a cold painted bronze figure of a man in repose on a rug, an enameled porcelain and glass dome paperweight, the interior with myriad shells, a card holder, three papier mache marineer and other shell encrusted boxes, one with a World's Columbian Exposition, Chicago, 1893 postcard affixed and rattan sides, the second example has mirrored sides, and the third of Louis XV style with applied ovoid prints of ships, a papier mache shell encrusted hand mirror, a Tibetan style brass repousse mounted shell, a composite, abalone and shell small dish, a heart shaped diorama, a shell dish, a glass relief clam shell form jar, a painted shell and eight carved shells. Largest piece, heart: height: 8 1/2", width: 8", depth: 2".

There are occasional losses of the shells, come dust debris, the heart diorama has the easel back now not attached, some oxidation of the metal components throughout, some losses and pealing on the papier mache pieces, but otherwise in good to very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
