Description
A GROUP OF SIX POLYCHROME ENAMEL DECORATED BISQUE PORCELAIN BIRD FIGURES, ENGLAND AND AMERICA, CIRCA 1960-1975, comprising a Royal Worcester bone china "Sparrow," model no. 3236 on fern covered mound with applied floral blossoms, manufacturer's mark on the bottom, height: 3 1/8", width: 3 1/4", depth: 2 1/8"; a Royal Worcester bone china "Kingfisher," model no. 3235 with fish in it's beak perched on stacked rock base, manufacturer's mark on the bottom, height: 3 1/8", width: 4 7/8", depth: 2 7/8"; a Diane Lewis designed Boehm of Malvern Studio bone china "Jenny Wren," model 200-1, perched on stacked rock base with day lily blossoms, Boehm England mark on the bottom, height: 6 1/8", width: 4 1/2", depth: 3 7/8"; a Boehm Porcelain Co. "Baby Buntings" group, model no. 400-10, with two recently hatched birds in circular nest, black manufacturer's mark on the bottom, height: 1 7/8", diameter: 3 3/8"; an Edward Marshall Boehm porcelain "Cygnus Olor," model no. 400-13, with resting swan sitting on a lily pod with insect, black manufacturer's mark on the bottom, height: 3 3/4", width: 6 1/8", depth: 4 7/8"; and a Boehm Porcelain Co. figure "Fledgling Kingfisher," model no. 449 perched on a log on water edge, raised on socle base, black manufacturer's mark on the bottom, height: 5 3/4", width: 5 1/4", depth: 3 7/8". NOTE: In 1970 Boehm acquired the studio of Diane, Terry, and Rick Lewis located on Tanhouse Lane in the village of Malvern, Worcestershire. Working with bone china, in contrast to the hard paste porcelain used in the Trenton, New Jersey workshop, the new Boehm of Malvern issued its first line in 1971.
Condition
The Jenny Wren example with loss to the beak and loss to one flower petal, otherwise fine condition.
