GIBBONS, EDWARD (1737-1794) FIVE VOLUMES, "History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire for the Use of Families and Young Persons" (FIRST BOWDLERISED EDITION), LONDON, LONGMAN, REES, ORME, BROWN, AND GREEN, 1826, with full brown buckram binding, gilt lining to front and back boards, vols. I, III, and V with black label on the spine and gilt lettering, vols. II and IV with red label on the spine and gilt lettering, speckled edges. Height: 8 3/4" Width: 5 5/8" Depth: 1 1/4"
Condition
BINDINGS: with overall fading and discoloration of the binding, including labels, scuffing of the boards, dented corners and ends of the spines, rubbing to gilding, minor cracking of hinges; INTERIOR: even yellowing of paper stock.
