Europe, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A truly gruesome instrument for the administration of pain, this is a classic tool from the arsenal of a truly deranged mind. A cast metal thumb screw, with a two-part clamp, one adjustable with a threaded T-bar for securing fingers within. The clamp bar has an attached loop for suspension, and the instrument is adorned with several etched and pierced star-shaped designs. A truly macabre device for pain! Size when fully screwed in: 4.5" L (11.4 cm).
