The subject depicts an epic sized image of the Virgin Mary seated upon a cushioned throne within an arched niche and displaying the attributes of royalty; crown, scepter, and gem encrusted cape. Her gilded halo is inscribed MATER SALVATORIS and the clasp of her cape embroidered in Latin HOLY QUEEN.
