For your consideration is the Russian Imperial Badge of the Composite-Guards battalion, 1883. Officially approved on the 3d of July, 1883. Badge is a gold shield, framed by a gold ribbon with the inscription and topped by a gold Imperial crown. The shield is silver St. AndrewÂs star. This regiment was formed to protect the Emperor Alexander III immediately after the assassination of his father, Alexander II. Badge may be regarded as an award medal, as in the Decree on its status from 1907 states - for meritorious service to His Imperial Majesty Consolidated Infantry Regiment.
