Description
This lot features a bronze bust statue after Rodin. The original piece was executed in plaster by Rodin in 1863 - 1864. Man with a Broken Nose is considered the first relevant work by Rodin, in which life is represented over the grace pervading the academic circles and aesthetic of the time. This piece was made at a later date by an unknown European foundry. Mounted on a marble base. Numbered 10 of 100. Singed "Rodin". Excellent condition. Measures: Base - 7.875" sq x 1.375", overall total height of 13.125", 6" deep from back of head to nose and 7" wide at the back of the head.
