Description
Bali, Indonesia, ca. 19th century CE. Fabulous and colorful Hindu inspired sword - or kris / keres - carried by guardians of a temple. The handle is a Hindu mythological scene representing Sutasoma being born by the man-eater Kalmasapada. Long iron blade covered by wooden sheath painted in bright floral decorations, wrapped in silver bands. Shows nice age and a rare form! Size: 28.5" L (72.4 cm)
