Description
Ancient Greece, Cyprus, early Iron Age, ca. 900 to 600 BCE. A near-miniature polychrome cream-hued terracotta vessel with black-and-red-hued linear and geometric designs. It has a slight concave base, a spherical body which gradually tapers to a very narrow neck, a flared rim, and a single applied handle arching from rim to shoulder. Size: 3.25" H (8.3 cm).
Provenance: private Carlton collection, Los Angeles, California, USA, acquired between 1965 and 1980
