Description
Greece, Cyprus, ca. 7th century BCE. Pottery jug in pink clay, bulbous base, single rounded handle, thin neck and flared rim. Jar painted in red and black pigments in a series of concentric circles looking very much like the rings on an archery target. Added black to each side, one in abstract fish form, the other obscured but possibly the same design. Size: 4.25" W x 5.75" H (10.8 cm x 14.6 cm)
Provenance: Ex - North Carolina collection acquired at Fragments of Time in 1996
