17/18th Century Chinese Sino-Tibetan Qing Dynasty gilt bronze figure of Medicine Guru Buddha, Bhaishajyaguru, is also known by the name Vaidurya Prabha Raja, the King of Sapphire Light. Cast with cold gilt serene face and two hands, he holds in the right hand a myrobalan fruit haritaki. The left hand is placed in the lap in the gesture of meditation supporting a begging bowl with the open palm. Adorned with robes of a fully ordained monk, the left arm covered, he appears in the nirmanakaya aspect of a fully enlightened buddha. In vajra posture above a moon disc, he sits on a double lotus throne. Extensive trace of gilt remain on surface, with hints of dark-blue pigment on hair.
The underside with incised Quatre-foil flori-form petals visvavajra mark surrounded the centralized DaiJi.

Excellent condition, with normal anomalies in nature, sign of stressed surface, minor scratch & dent. Surface traced wear and or declined to gilding. Normal, considering ages and wears.
