Description
Age: Qing dynasty, Qianlong period, 18th century
Description: A superb Chinese large cinnabar lacquer peach-shaped box and cover, the cover carved with an extensive mountain landscape panel depicting Lao Tzu holding the peach of immortality, with attendants, enclosed by a peony border and a wide band of with clusters of peaches with wan symbols against a diapered ground, the box with complimenting carving. The interior and base lacquered black.
Size w 11 1/4", w 28.5 cm.
