AMERICAN, POSSIBLY SOUTHERN, SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) DOUBLE PORTRAIT, oil on canvas, charming depiction of two sisters, each in white dress, one holding straw hat with pink ribbon, landscape visible in background, no signature located. Housed in elaborate, likely original, gilt frame with extensive molded-composition ornament. Third quarter 19th century. 10 1/2" x 9" sight, 21 1/2" x 20" OA.
Portrait in good visual condition with moderate craquelure throughout (now stable). Frame very good with minor areas of loss and repair.
