This is a set of four matching sterling silver butter pats, each with a pretty floral and swirled pattern all around the edge. The pattern is identified simply as FW1226. Each butter pat has the initial "D" gracefully engraved in the center.
Whiting Silver was founded in 1866 by William Dean Whiting, who had earned a reputation as a master maker of sterling silver. During the late 19th century, the firm was one of the premier manufacturers of sterling silver flatware, hollowware, and other decorative objects such as snuff boxes.
