U. S. & North America with oddly shaped Dakota--Ettling c1860. This uncommon Civil War era engraved map shows a very unusual configuration for Dakota. In this map the borders of Wyoming Territory have yet to be formed—it is still part of Dakota. Nevada, Utah and Arizona are also still in earlier configurations. West Virginia hasn’t separated from Virginia, which puts the map sometime before 1863. Numerous Indian tribes are located throughout the West and topography is very detailed. Not an easy map to find. Outline color by hand. Published by Cassell, Petter & Galpin. Very light discoloration at centerfold. Few very small and light fox spots. 1†split at right centerfold in margin.
