Description
WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA DECORATED STONEWARE JUG, salt-glazed, approximately one-gallon capacity, semi-ovoid form with a tapered-collar mouth. Brushed cobalt flowering vine decoration above two stripes, and stenciled cobalt five-point star below handle. Probably James Hamilton or Hamilton & Jones, Greensboro, PA. Circa 1875. 11 1/2" H.
Handle replaced, light surface crazing. 2 3/4" D kiln scar to right side, small spall to upper shoulder, all as made.
