Description
Oceania, Fiji Islands, ca. early 20th century CE. A gorgeous example of the distinctive wooden culacula war club, a broad, flat-bladed club with two edges used like a sword. The entire surface is highly polished. These weapons had both ceremonial and functional roles, and were probably inspired by Samoan or Tongan weapons. Size: 4.8" W x 23" H (12.2 cm x 58.4 cm)
