The very rare volume of Baldassarre Luciano, 1806-1863, is considered one of the most significant iconographic books on Sardinia. It is articulated in 16 chapters, embellished with out text colored plates that mainly depict the traditional costumes of numerous island resorts. The volume is the record of a trip to Sardinian provinces, undoubtedly inspired by illustrious travelers' publications. In the book's conclusions, in fact, the author, with the clear intent of ending rumors about his work, states that "from the books of Marmora, Manno, Mimaut, Valery and P. Ciotti, these presentations, not that of private cartels and of particular notions given by characters worthy of faith. "
