American, second quarter 19th century. A framed fraktur completed in Reading, Pennsylvania, with printed and hand-written text, and hand-colored angel and bird illustrations, serving as the birth certificate of Georg Kaufman, born in 1838; 15.25 x 12.25 in. (sight).

Provenance: Property from the Collection of Dr. M. Donald Hayes. To Be Sold Without Reserve.

Toning throughout and a few stains.
