Description
A photograph of Rudolph Valentino that used to be displayed in Clara Bow’s bedroom on her nightstand. The image shows Valentino in his costume from The Sheik (Paramount, 1921). Along the margin of the photograph Bow wrote “Rudolph Valentino/ The cinema’s greatest screen lover who has/ passed on -------/ We salute you our ‘Sheik’!!” Valentino died in 1926. Accompanied by a page from a scrapbook that shows Bow sitting on her bed next to this photograph. Also present is a framed vintage black and white publicity image of Valentino with “Rudolph Valentino” written on the photograph in an unknown hand.
