Description
Pre-Columbian, Peru, Moche, ca. 300 to 500 CE. A fine line pottery rattle shaped like a bottle, the instrument is beautifully decorated with three wide registers of abstract geometric patterns, most likely inspired by textile motifs, on the body, as well as a band of open circles nestled between a pair of linear bands and twin triangular motifs on the handle. A lovely musical instrument that not only looks attractive but also produces a wonderful percussive sound. Size: 3.5" in diameter x 5.75" H (8.9 cm x 14.6 cm)
