**First Time At Auction**
Africa, East Africa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and West Africa, Cameroon, Kirdi people, both ca. early to mid 20th century CE. Two axes from the DRC, the longest with a slender, projecting blade made from iron inserted into a long, curved wooden handle. The other is a ceremonial axe with an aluminum blade projecting from the wood handle, adorned with metal nail heads, and with an aluminum strip reinforcing the item on its butt. The last is a Kirdi brass currency axe cast of a single piece and possessing a crescent-form blade. Size of largest: 7" W x 27" H (17.8 cm x 68.6 cm)
