In about the 8th century BCE the ancient city of Rhodos took shape on a small island off the southwest coast of Asia Minor. The coinage of Rhodos usually depicts the Sun God Helios on the obverse side, with a beautifully styled rose on the reverse side. There are a plethora of coin varieties from this prolific ancient city and are all highly sought by collectors worldwide.
