c. 1976. Not signed. Hand-molded coastal clay from Charleston creeks. Fragile material in good condition. Tallest is 5"h. Provenance: The Acacia Collection. According to a letter in Mrs. Chase's files, Simmons was African American. His wife was white and they were in Charleston because a movie was being made from a book she wrote. Afraid that their bi-racial child would not be accepted, they moved to France. Est. $25-50. Ship:$55
