Two Connecticut Stoneware Churns, early 19th century, an approximately one-and-a-half-gallon churn with faint cobalt highlights to handle terminals, impressed "GOODWIN & WEBSTER", Hartford origin; paired with a two-gallon churn with unusual large-sized coggling to shoulder and cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market lot, purchased by the consignor decades ago. Goodwin & Webster churn with in-the-firing chipping to rim, minor base chips, and a large Y-shaped crack in underside, extending partway up body of churn. Other churn with heavy chipping to base, a 1 5/8" in-the-firing flake to underside, a few rim chips, short cracks from rim, and some staining to surface.
