Florence Saville Berryman (1900-1992) was the daughter of C.K. Berryman a Pulitzer Prize winning cartoonist in D.C. At the age of 14, Florence stopped drawing when she contracted scarlet fever and became deaf. As an adult, Florence worked as an art critic for The Washington Post and The Evening Star. She produced thousands of drawings on found materials. Most of these works were discarded after her death. The works here are from a collection of a few hundred that were salvaged by a writer-historian who is now preparing a book on Berryman's life and work.
