Henry Gremke was the son of a California gold miner, born in 1860 in San Francisco. Henry Gremke
is well known for his paintings of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. This work is a late 19th or early 20th
century oil painting showing the wonderful colors of Lake Tahoe, and the details of the snowy mountains beyond.
From the collection of a Bay Area frame shop whose owner's father, and former proprietor of the framing shop, did work for Gremke and collected the artist's works.
