Description
A matched set of three late Victorian silver menu holders, each modelled as the word 'Menu' with twin back supports and folding stand, hallmarked Lawrence Emanuel, Birmingham, one dated 1899, two dated 1900, maximum width measures 5.2 cm. Gross weight 29.3 grams.
Condition
In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. One of the folding stands on the 1900 examples appears to sit slightly higher, the size of the folding stands vary slightly with the 1900 examples measuring 2.9 cm and 3.9 cm on the 1899 example, the word 'Menu' on the 1899 example also appears slightly bigger and more open. Hallmarks clear and legible.
