Easton, Northampton County, PA Paint Decorated Softwood Dower Chest Attributed to Peter Rohn. Circa. last quarter 18th century. Decorated with stylized clover leaf panels. Molded lid, Interior till, shaped wrought iron strap hinges, wrought iron jaw lock, dovetailed case and molded base with bracket feet. For a similar example see "The Pennsylvania-German Decorated Chest" by Monroe H. Fabian (2004) pages 126 and 127, photos 81 and 82. 22"h. x 50"w. x 22"d. Condition: Good with wear and losses, mostly on lid.
