Description
NIPPON PORCELAIN TEXAS ROSE VASE, having a high shoulder, tapered foot and flared rim with large hand-painted floral design over cream/yellow ground and gilding. Blue maple leaf and "Hand / Painted" mark on base. Late 19th/early 20th century. 11 3/8".
Undamaged with some wear to areas of raised gilding mostly on shoulder.
Literature: Design similar to the "Texas Rose Pattern" as in Van Patten - ABC's of Collecting Nippon Porcelain, p. 214.
Provenance: A portion of the Dick and Mary Ellen Bittner 20 year collection.
