Nissen ZBI, 1348. - Prachtvolle bei Langlois (bekannt für seine Arbeit für Redouté) gedruckte und seltene Mollusken Monographie des berühmten Malakologen Jean Baptiste Louis d'Audebert de Férussac (1745-1815), welcher bis 1808 als Offizier in der französischen Armee tätig war. Das "grosse Cephalopoden-Werk" (Nissen) besticht durch seine präzisen Zeichnungen und die kraftvolle Kolorierung der verschiedenen Muschelarten. Die umfassende Monographie bildet einen Teil von Ferussacs monumentaler Histoire naturelle des mollusques , die posthum von seinem Sohn Andre Etienne (1786-1836), Naturwissenschaftler und Verfasser der Tableaux systematique (1821-22), und von Deshayes 1838-1851 herausgeben bzw. vollendet wurde. "Posterity is grateful to Férussac for some of the most beautiful and accurate coloured figures of non-marine molluscs ever published" (Dance, S. 91). - Teils etwas (braun-)fleckig. - Eindrucksvolle breitrandige Ausgabe.
