ITALIAN SCHOOL (18th Century) A PAINTING, "Study of Architecture," oil on board, an idealization of the Pantheon, hand inscription at board back, framed in a Jean Cherin age and quality, water gilded, carved gesso frame. 9 1/4" x 9"

Craquelure throughout, some in painting, some darkening of the paint, and occasional chips and losses of paint and gesso mostly near frame edges. Viewed under ultraviolet light, one window near center, and an area of the top of the dome fluoresce. Some apparent repairs with glue residue on the frame that fluoresce, mild losses, and some later applied gilt paint. Otherwise in good to very good condition, wear commensurate with age.
