Description
LEE/ROSE NO. 121 CUP PLATE, colorless, 30 even scallops. Extremely rare. Midwestern, probably Pittsburgh. 1830-1845. 3 1/8" D.
Proof except for a single very lightly tipped scallop. Slight underfill affecting several scallops, as made.

Provenance: Collection of Jim Lawrence and Denver Smallwood, Chattanooga, TN.
Catalogue Note: Rose noted "The plate is so rare that even badly damaged specimens are considered acceptable."
An example from the Marble collection was included in the 1954 Corning exhibit (case 39, #683) and included by Rose in his new "100 Best" clear list.
