**First Time At Auction**
Europe, France, ca. 19th century CE. A charming upholstered miniature hutch - finished with green velvet and sateen fabrics, decoupaged European scenes, and green trim to resemble Vernis Martin interior design - a form of Japanning named for the Martin brothers (Guillaume, Etienne-Simon, Robert, and Julien) who ran a successful business in the 18th century (about 1730 to 1770). Notice how the colors and patterns of the fabrics on this piece, particularly the roundels with figurative scenes, resemble that technique which emulated Chinese lacquer and European subject matter. The cabinet is also furnished with glass windows, a glass shelf, and a gold tone decorative latch. Inside is an embroidered doily. Size: 4.375" L x 6.75" W x 10.126" H (11.1 cm x 17.1 cm x 25.7 cm)

Condition
Patterns from the glue beneath the fabric show on the back section. Otherwise overall excellent with minor wear commensurate with age. Latch works as well.
