Description
Housed in a rich mahogany cabinet lies the "Official Laboratory Model" Diamond Disc Phonograph. With gold plated elements including the crank as well as the tone arm, which had a diamond bit instead of a needle. These diamond "needles" required special discs that were substantially thicker than the standard 78s of the time. The cabinet features Gothic styling reminiscent of Chippendale furniture, with a decorative woven speaker and lower cabinet for storing additional records. In working order. The original key is included. Circa 1915. Condition: (Good - Very Good). Dimensions: 22-1/2"D x 22"W x 51-1/2"T.
