Description
Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A beautiful example of an essential tool, a bronze chisel with a square socket cast onto a thin blade with twin hooks near its base. Two concentric circles - often interpreted to represent a ward against the evil eye - are incised in the blade just above the hooks. Comes with custom stand. Size: 1.05" L x 1.9" W x 4.8" H (2.7 cm x 4.8 cm x 12.2 cm); height on stand: 5.75" (14.6 cm)
