Antique Foliate Sterling Silver Match Safe, 1880

Item Details

Description

This is a beautiful sterling silver match safe or vesta, made around 1880. It features a decadent scrolling folate repousse design. This is a very sturdy piece, weighing in at 29 grams, or 0.93 Troy ounces. It is in perfect condition and the strike panel on the bottom is in great shape.; This piece measures 2 1/2" x 1 3/8" x 1/4". It has an "AC" monogram engraved on the front. It is marked "STERLING-B 167." Unable to identify the maker, but this is first class work.
