A pair of 4.75 x 2.25'' White House Staff passes issued to Lt. Hirschy in 1962 and 1963. Rare, and in pristine condition, these pink and cream colored temporary passes allowed Lt. Hirschy to travel throughout the White House in order to perform his duties in assisting President JFK and his staff. One was issued to Lt. Hirschy and the other is blank.

Laminated in a thick plastic and bound by a metal clasp, these badges feature black text denoting their source as the U.S. Naval Base at Newport, Rhode Island, the temporary pass number, "WHITE HOUSE STAFF" in large text, and five lines of identifying information relating to Lt. Hirschy and the validating officer J. J. O'Connor, LCDR, USN.

Lieutenant Hirschy was Supply and Logistics Officer for the Military Aides to the President and Officer-in-Charge of the Navy Mess in the White House during both the Kennedy and Johnson administrations. His duties also included taking care of the President's needs on overseas trips, aboard the presidential yachts and at Camp David. Lt. Hirschy served in the White House from May 1, 1961 through May 31, 1965. These items come directly from the Hirschy family.
