Description
The New Modern American & British Poetry published by Harcourt Brace and Company, 1939, New York, Chicago and edited by Louis Untermeyer, 483 pages. Written in Jacqueline Kennedy's hand: "Jacqueline Bouvier / Class 5 / 1939" printed in black ink on the first page. The book has a hard cover, brown cloth binding with black and gold printing on the cover. Born in 1929, Jacqueline Bouvier attended Mrs. Chapin's School in New York from the first through the eighth grades. At a very young age she developed an interest in the arts, poetry, and horses, which remained lasting passions throughout her life. The book is in good condition, the binding is slightly worn along the edges and paper has yellowed slightly from age. 7.5 x 5.375 x 1.25".
