A piece of the Berlin Wall with photograph and certificate of authenticity gifted to Francis Gary Powers Jr.

This 15 x 11'' framed lot contains a small section of the infamous Berlin Wall; above it is a color picture of the piece's approximate location on the wall. This lot also includes a signed certificate of authenticity. The COA states, "Authentic piece removed between February 1 and March 30, 1990."

The now demolished barrier that separated East and West Berlin was infamously known to the world as a death strip. It contained hundreds of watch towers and armed guards to prevent any crossing of the Wall. This piece was located directly below a watch tower, as seen in the photograph.

More than just a historical artifact, this piece of the Wall represents a divided nation, the bloodshed of Europe, and the struggles of a world in turmoil.

These items provided directly by Mr. Powers' son, expert public speaker on the U-2 Incident and Cold War History, Francis Gary Powers Jr.
