Chinese porcelain in shape of flattened flori-form lobed body, the upper half forming the cover fitting perfectly along the scalloped edges on the box. The lid decorated with centralized gilt over glaze Longevity Shou medallion, framed within two adjacent ruyi shaped motif, interspersed with colorful stylized floral blooms against the pale turquoise green ground. The sides with correspondence floral motif.



Mark on the turquoise-green glazed underbase, a six red seal script -ZhuanShu- characters, QianLong Reign Period.


The character for a small box sounds the same as He which can mean peace; harmony and so a box portrayed in a picture symbolizes peaceful wishes. This wish is amplified by the presence of lotus leaves and a scepter. Hé-hé èr Xian - the Heavenly twins of ‘Harmony and Union’ are shown as two boys one carrying a box (or sometimes a bowl) and the other a lotus.
