Highly valued Chinese Zitan wood carved unto a tall square Buddha temple houses, with opening to the front, surrounded by shaped skirts, beneath the monk headdress shaped roof top. The exterior decorated in reliefs of scrolling rococo foliate and many auspicious symbols. Each opening covered in royal-yellow silk. The Zitan wood display smooth lustrous dense hardwood with dark purple-brown patina and feathery fine grain.
