Description
Kirk & Son introduced the Repousse pattern in 1828, a really ornate pattern which has continued to remain popular through the years. This beautiful bacon or sardine fork is embellished with a multitude of floral buds, blooms, and leaves. It is a seven tine fork that looks a bit like sharks teeth. It is 7 5/8" in length and 2 3/4" wide and weights 1.5 troy oz. It has a monogram on the back. In very good condition with light surface scratches.
The Stieff Company, located in Baltimore, Maryland, was founded in 1892 and became known as Kirk-Stieff in 1979. It is renowned for the quality and value of its silver products, along with its elegant hand-chasing and Repoussé work. Its most well-known pattern, introduced in 1892, is Maryland or Stieff Rose.
